Yuzu Kosho, 150g · Yuzuya Honten

Yuzu kosho is one of the smallest yet most powerful Japanese seasonings in the kitchen. It combines the fresh aroma of yuzu peel with the sharp spiciness of green chili and balanced saltiness, creating a concentrated paste from which a small amount is enough to transform an entire dish.

Yuzuya Honten's yuzu kosho is especially suitable for dishes that need a clever "final touch": alongside gyoza, yakitori, seared fish, chicken, tofu, udon, soba, soups, roasted vegetables, and soy or ponzu-based sauces. It adds an elegant spiciness, a citrusy aroma, and a clean Japanese flavor without overpowering the dish.

Tips
Start with a small amount - yuzu kosho is concentrated, salty, and spicy. Mix a little with Japanese mayonnaise for a quick dip, with soy and ponzu for a dipping sauce, or spread a thin layer on fish, chicken, or tofu after grilling. It also works great in hot soup, but it's best to add it at the end to preserve the citrus aroma.
