Product Description

Nameko are no longer just random mushrooms for a dish. They have a unique, almost silky texture that adds depth and a richer mouthfeel to broth, miso soup, ramen, udon, and even vegetable and rice dishes. They come whole and in water, making them very easy to work with and saving an unnecessary preparation step. This product is especially suitable for those who love Japanese ingredients and are looking less for crunch and more for a soft, pleasant, slightly gelatinous texture that pairs excellently with hot dishes.

Tips
It is recommended to gently strain them and incorporate them towards the end of cooking to preserve their texture. They work great in miso soup, ramen, in a gentle stir-fry with soy sauce and sesame oil, or as a topping for a rice bowl with tofu and vegetables.
